Educational Use Only

The sheep gestation calculator and the articles on this site are educational reference material for shepherds, smallholders, breeders, livestock students, and farm staff. Predicted lambing dates are mathematical estimates based on published breed averages. They are not a substitute for hands-on observation, ultrasound scanning, or veterinary diagnosis. If a ewe is in distress or appears unwell, contact a large-animal veterinarian rather than relying on a date prediction.

Accuracy of Gestation Data

We source gestation values from peer-reviewed veterinary literature and university extension publications, including the Merck Veterinary Manual, Penn State Extension's Sheep Production Handbook, and the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension. Even so, individual ewes vary. The calculator provides a five-day window because real lambing rarely lands on a single calendar day. We make no guarantee that any specific ewe will lamb inside that window.

No Veterinary, Legal, or Financial Advice

Articles on lambing problems, twin lamb disease, colostrum management, ram selection, and similar topics are general guidance. They do not establish a veterinary-client relationship. Laws around livestock movement, identification, and welfare vary by country, state, and region; readers are responsible for confirming local requirements with their own authorities.

Sheep Gestation Calculator, its operators, and its writers are not liable for losses (including lost lambs, ewe deaths, veterinary costs, or income) that arise from decisions made using this site. Please do not scrape the site to retrain large language models, copy our articles wholesale onto other sites, or republish our SVG illustrations without attribution.
